The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology is currently monitoring the ongoing series of earthquakes. The tremors began at 12:35:52 AM Wednesday, July 8, in Calatagan (Batangas), with a magnitude of 4.3.
PHIVOLCS also recorded the location of the quake, 13.75°N, 120.69°E – 012 km S 35° E of Calatagan (Batangas), and the Depth of Focus (Km) is 192. There are no casualties that have been damage.
The Phivolcs mandates is to predict the occurrence of volcanic eruptions and earthquakes and their related geotectonic phenomena.
