Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque scolding CNN journalist Trish Terada during a live broadcast went viral online.
The issue started after CNN broadcaster featured inaccurate report concerning “mass testing” for COVID-19 in the country.
In this video featured “video conference” with Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque answering question from the news reporters online joining the conference. CNN Philippines’ Malacañang correspondent Triciah “Trish” Terada was the first to ask the question about the “mass testing for COVID-19” in which Roque bring to her attention to correct the erroneous term used in publication that supposed to be corrected to “expanded targeted testing” instead of “mass testing” that causing the public misunderstood the government program.
Roque cited the root of the misunderstanding is the inaccurate term used “mass testing” which was quoted in the report.
“Unang-una, siguro po kasi mali iyong ginagamit nating term na ‘mass testing.’ Ang tawag po dapat ay ‘expanded targeted testing,’ okay? Wala pong bansa sa buong mundo na tini-test ang lahat ng kanilang mga mamamayan. Kaya nga po mali ang terminong ‘mass testing,’” he said.
Roque explained that because we’ve been using the wrong term, “mass testing.” It should be called “expanded targeted testing,” okay? No country in the world tests all its citizens. That’s why the term “mass testing” is wrong.)
On the other part of this video, Kristin Karen Dávila made a clarification interview with Roque.
