The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has confirmed that there are 322 Filipino seafarers that arrived in the Philippines from Italy.
The newly arrived seafarers are from two different cruise ships.
The 114 seamen were from Costa Diadema cruise ship while the 208 seamen came from Costa Victoria. With almost 5,000 seafarers will be going home in the Philippines. Some of them may arrive in the country this week.
As the world is fighting against the pandemic novel coronavirus, some overseas Filipino workers abroad were sent home in the country.
And based on the report, seafarers of two cruise ships that have to stop its operation due to the COVID-19 will be sent back to the PH.
In the Philippines, there is now a total of 3,246 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
Nearly 1.3 million cases of coronavirus were recorded worldwide. And the death toll reaches to 70,000.
