In San Fabian town at Pangasinan City, a 7-year-old girl has died due to the pandemic disease coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as of Wednesday said the local officials of Pangasinan.

The child is from Barangay Inmalog Sur. And according to San Fabian Mayor Constante Agbayani, it was also the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in that town.

Based on the reports from the provincial health office, the patient was confined at the La Union Medical Center in Agoo, La Union on March 26, and died that day, said Mayor Agbayani.

As of now, it was still unknown how the child contracted the virus.

In addition, the results of the test done by the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine will be released only on Tuesday.

According to Agbayani, barangay Inmalog Sur had been placed under extreme community quarantine due to the girl’s case.
