An advisory issued to Local Government Unit (LGU) implementing curfew to the senior citizens and students.
The said advisory addressed to “all local chief executives in the Visayas, Visayas heads of departments, agencies, offices and instrumentalities of the government, AFP central command and Philippine National Police Visayas Regional Offices for implementation dated March 21, 2020.
The advisory implementing 24-hour curfew requiring the senior citizens to stay at home as well as all students is in accordance to the presidential proclamation No. 929 declaring a state of calamity throughout the country due to coronavirus disease or COVID-19.
The said Presidential Proclamation No. 929 is anchored to Memorandum No.8 issued by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on the 8th of November 2016 empowering functions of the Presidential Assistant from which Michael Llyod L. Dino, Presidential Assistant for the Visayas so ordered the 24-hour curfew directing senior citizens and all student to stay at home in response to the government fight to contain coronavirus disease by placing the country under “enhance community quarantine.”
