The Indian state health minister, B Sriramula has announced the first Indian COVID-19 fatality is a 76-year-old man that was tested positive for coronavirus has died.

The health minister for Karnataka State has announced it on his Twitter account, he said in his post,

“The man that lives in Kalburgi, India has been confirmed for the COVID-19 and the necessary contact tracing, isolation & other measures as per protocol are being carried out.”

Based on the report of the Press Trust of India, the old man returned to India from Saudi Arabia. And then died on Tuesday night.

According to the tally of Johns Hopkins University, India now has a total of 73 confirmed cases of COVID-19 disease.

Coronavirus or COVID-19 disease has killed more than 4,600 people and more than 127,000 infected persons.
