The Health authorities advise travelers to return to their home provinces from Metro Manila to undergo a 14-day home quarantine to control the spread of the COVID-19.
According to Health Assistant Secretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, the travelers who are outside the National Capital Region (NCR) would be considered (PUMs) or persons under monitoring (PUMs).
Sec. Vergeire said that all the travelers that are experiencing flu-like symptoms like fever, dry cough, and fatigue are considered as patients under investigation (PUIs) also they are advised to seek medical care immediately.
President Duterte announced on Thursday that the 12 million people in Metro Manila would be placed under “community quarantine” to control the spreading of the disease.
Traveling by water, land or air inside and outside of Metro Manila will be banned. People in Metro Manila are advised to stay in their houses and avoid traveling.
Before Metro Manila locked down on March 15, many people choose to return to their home towns.
Based on the statement of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III he said, “Let us cooperate with our healthcare workers and local government authorities to stop the spread of this disease to other communities. The department is issuing guidelines for the health and safety of all Filipinos,” Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said in a statement.
“In turn, let us follow these stringent infection prevention interventions without fail. Only through the genuine help of all Filipinos will we be able to stop this health emergency.”
Currently, the Philippines has recorded 98 cases of coronavirus this includes the 8 fatalities.
