MARIKINA CITY, Mayor Marcelino Teodoro confirms 1st case of COVID19.
According to reports from CNN.phils.com the said patient is one of the included lists of 10 infected coronavirus cases in the country.
Assistant Health Sec. Maria Rosario Vergeire said that the patient is now under treatment in a certain hospital in Quezon City and isolated from the other patients.
Sec. Vergeire is cautious about the information of the patient and do not literally disclose the patients whereabouts but what is certain that the person infected originates from Marikina City.
The local government of Marikina is now on the heightened alert upon what happened and even cancelled some of classes in the area to avoid infection and also a precautionary measure to ensure safety of the people.
Meanwhile Sec. Duque upon confirmation of the total number infected, he urged the National Government to declare State of Public Health Emergency prior to his (Duque) declaration of “CODE RED” in the health sector department.
Duque also ensures the public not to panic and he 100% stated that the DOH is fully prepared to counter this disease and capable to accommodate future cases of COVID19
