Governor Roel Degamo announces suspension of classes in all levels of Negros Oriental starting tomorrow, February 5, 2020, until Friday, Feb. 7.  This announcement was made to make a precaution for the 2019 novel coronavirus.

Recently, the coronavirus continued to spread apace on Tuesday, with more than 20,500 cases confirmed worldwide and at least 427 deaths.

According to PIA Negros Oriental, Provincial Public Information Officer Bimbo Miraflor and Assistant Provincial Health Officer Dr. Liland Estacion announce that there are five individuals confined at the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital (NOPH) for isolation and medical treatment. They are confirmed to have personal contact with the Chinese couple who tested positive for the 2019-nCov. The patients at NOPH are considered as “Persons Under Investigation (PUI)” and will be monitored until Feb. 8 which is the end of the 14-Day incubation period.
