FAVILAVIR” is the first approved drug to fight against the novel coronavirus since the outbreak began in Wuhan, China.

The Taizhou government in Zhejiang province announces on Sunday, February 16, 2020 the approval of marketing of Favilavir by the National Medical Products Administration which was formerly known as “Fapilavir.”

According to Taizhou government on its official WeChat account, the drug named Fapilavir was developed by the Zhejiang Hisun Pharmaceutical Company and the it shows efficacy in treating the novel coronavirus and expected to play important role to prevent and to treat the epidemic.

The Ministry of Science and Technology also said that Favilavir is one among the three drugs in the clinical trials that shows significant efficacy in treating the COVID-19.

Report said the government of China is now producing the said dugs since Sunday.

Meanwhile, Zhejiang province shows the record that there are now 1.167 cases as of today.
