A man who was reportedly collapsed on a street in Manila left lying on the sidewalk for more than an hour without help even if several attempt to call authorities.

The concerned netizens who found a man collapsed in Remedios Street, Corner Taft Avenue in Malate, Manila is identified as Zaldy Maguigad who have uploaded video and photos on his Facebook account.

Our team learned that a certain good Samaritan Zaldy Maguigad is a medical practitioner who paid attention to respond the victim who was believed a Chinese national and suspected of coronavirus or 2019-nCoV.

In an interview with GMA News, Maguigad told reporter that he tried many calls to the concerned rescue groups like Red Cross Manila Chapter, the 143 Emergency Hotline, the Ospital ng Maynila, and San Lazaro Hospital but no immediate respond from the authorities citing different reasons they could not rescue the foreigner.

Maguigad also told reporter that he called the police station but no one is willing to rescue the victim.

“Nanginginig po siya na nakabaluktot. So ako bilang isang siyempre sa medical din po tayo nagtatrabaho ang tingin ko na doon pagka kasi ganoon, ‘matic meron po siyang fever,” he said.

“Hindi po dapat ‘yan may kasama ‘yung victim,’ ‘Yun ang tugon sa’kin., Sabi ko, ‘Paano ‘yan, emergency po ‘to. Porket po ba wala nang kasama hindi na puwede? Puwede po bang kahit kami na sumama?’ ‘Ay hindi po pupwede sir, e,” he recalled.

Since the time the foreigner collapsed for over an hour, there was no responder to the reported incident. Maguigad told reporter that the weak foreigner stood up and gradually walk away but was not able to carry his belongings.

Meanwhile, Manila Police District Station 5 explained they dispatched cops at 7:40 p.m. on Saturday, but the man was not there anymore.

Barangay 696 also gives the reason for not responding the incident saying they dispatched a barangay tanod to help.
