Regarding this issue, a lot of personalities in showbizness and politics have expressed their opinion about the said issue.
Tamano said during the press conference, Bakit sila ABS-CBN gusto nilang mag-shortcut?
According to FICTAP the ABS-CBN franchise renewal during the 16th Congress in 2014. During the committee hearing, it is the inclusion of multiple channels in the application of a single franchise.
Tamano added that there should only one channel in every franchise and the media company has used the term “channels” in its application and not “channel”.
The House committee did not approve the franchise at that time so because of this, another set of the hearing was set. But Tamano said that this thing never happened.
The Federation of International Cable TV Associations of the Philippines was stress out as well because the ABS-CBN was licensed for the franchise test broadcast. Because of this, the company cannot do pay-per-view services because it is a free tv.
