64-year-old man Max Gandalibo and 23-year old Venus Usman married on  Maguindanao on Valentine’s Day.

The 41-year age gap proves that ‘age doesn’t matter’ when it comes to love. The bride and the groom chose Valentine’s Day as their “Kalilang” or wedding day for the “Maguindanaon”.

Even both their families don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day because of their tradition, the couple chooses that day to make sure that their province’s governor, second district Rep. Esmael “Toto” Mangudadatu can come as part of their principal sponsors.

The province Governor shared some photos of the wedding and said that it is proof that loves knows no age.

He wrote, “Isa na namang patunay na bulag ang pag-ibig at walang pinipiling edad kapag ito’y kumatok sa puso ninuman.”
“Sa araw mismo ng mga Puso ay pinatunayan ng isang 23 years old na batang babae na si Venus Usman na umibig sa isang 64 years old na lalaki na si Max Gandalibo,”

Governor Mangudadatu was a principal sponsor of the controversial union of Freddie Aguilar and his 16-year-old girlfriend Jovie Gatdula Albao on November 21, 2013.

That time, singer-songwriter Freddie Aguilar was in the early ’70s and was accused of engaging in an “unlawful and immoral” romance with a minor.

Freddie Aguilar was converted to Islam and married Albao to legalize their wedding.

The Philippine’s civil code states that the legal age for the women to marry was 18 years old. However, the Islamic Shariah Law was the other way around.

This law allows the 16-year-old woman who had already his menstrual period, can be married to a Prophet Mohammad with Aisha who is 16-years-old back then.

They also allow the husband to have 4 wives.
