The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) report that the magnitude 3.4 earthquake hits Basay (Negros Oriental) at 12:06:39 AM on Tuesday Morning, January 14, 2020.
The volcano remains under Alert Level 4, which means a “hazardous” eruption is possible “within hours to days.”
The location is 09.09°N, 122.44°E – 041 km S 31° W of Basay (Negros Oriental) where the Depth of Focus (Km) is 013 with the Origin “Tectonic.”
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) is a service institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) that is principally mandated to mitigate disasters that may arise from volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, tsunami and other related geotectonic phenomena.
