The earlier report of 5.7-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Occidental Thursday night was downgraded into 5.6 the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) gives the latest update.
According the Phivolcs the tectonic tremor occurred at 8:24 p.m. with almost 49 kilometers southeast of the town of Jose Abad Santos with the measure of about 54 kilometers.
The latest record reach to level of intensity 3, as Phivolcs described it as “weak” in the areas of Glan, Malapatan and Alabel, Sarangani.
The intensity 2 was also recorded General Santos City; Koronadal City and Tampakan, South Cotabato.

Intensty II – General Santos City; Tupi, South Cotabato; Kiamba, Sarangani
Intensity I – Gingoog City
The Phivolcs also inform the public that the earthquake did not cause damage but also advised to be ready for the aftershocks as it is always expected.
Last October, moderate strong temblors struck somewhere in the area of Mindanao leaving some people dead in the said incident, hundreds were wounded and hurts also destroys and damaged several structures.
