Hashtag Zeus Collins Arellano shares his life story on video. The story of how he started dancing, his hard work, sacrifices and how he reached success.
Zeus Collins, born on March 19, 1993 (25 years old) started dancing when he was a little child. He just wanted to dance, jump, play until he saw his mother dancing and he was taught some dance steps and surprisingly, he could follow it. The type of dance he usually do are Hip-hop with a little Swag, break dance and Bboy. Zeus Collins idols in dancing were Michael Jackson, Street boys, Manuevers and UMD. He was about 7 or 8 years old when he started joining dance contests. He was the youngest in the group with ages 13-15 years old participants. Each time their group performs, he was the one who is put in a case and surprises the audience each time the case is opened and he appears dancing with many audience shouting on his performance.
He recalls his starting days when all of his costumes, shoes, clothes and perfumes used in dancing are all borrowed from his colleagues because he had nothing to buy. But he never gave up on practicing. Many people were influenced by his dancing after he taught them some dance moves. According to Zeus, each time they joined contests, there are many times that they lose but it did not stop them on showing their talent. Until such time he thought of using his talent on as a job. He also experienced doing mimes on bay walk and whatever coins dropped on him, that would be his income. Their group first appeared in KTV last 2004 or 2005, and he said that they were very happy to perform even without pay and does not hesitate to walk along the road from Pasay to the place they performed their dance. Sometimes, they have no food and sometimes they just had pack lunch to survive and it was a daily routine.
It was a blessing that he learned how to dance because he really liked to dance because each time he hears music, his body is like an automatic machine that moves instantly. Dancing is his passion and he is in love with dancing. According to him, he was very happy each time people calls him “God of the Dance Floor”, etc. His success in dancing was his dream and he was very happy he reach it through hard work and perseverance. Zeus is also fond of children who dances because he sees himself in them.
He also started as a back-up dancer of different artists, like Julia Montes, Enrique Gil, Maja Salvador and etc. He also wishes that he could dance with the children who are just like him when he started.
His lesson in his life, that we should believe on ourselves and o the talent God gave to us. On whatever we want to reach would happen through dedication and hard work.
