In the Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender Year end gathering in Davao city yesterday, President Duterte, said he would like to file a commission to protect LGBT community from bullying. He also stated that he supports same sex marriage but the law must have to be changed since there is a civil law that says marriage is a union between a man and a woman. But he said that we should respect the choice of human beings. But last March 19, 2017 he spoke in a conference in Myanmar that he disagrees same sex marriage since most Filipinos are Catholics.
1st District Bataan Rep.Geraldine Roma stated that marriage is a religious term so the law must keep the term. But what the LGBT community are interested are civil rights Roman said it not because he does not support same sex marriage but he wants to be realistic. Roman explained house billing no. 6595 that they should have same rights like married man and woman. They should also have rights to adopt a child, right to claim properties to spouses. According to explanatory note that Philippines are behind from other countries with this kind of laws. For now, Roman admits that no one had ever file the law regarding same sex marriage.
