#WalangPasok: Classes and work are cancelled on December 8, 2017 in order the give way for the celebration of local events. The Malacañang Palace publishes the Proclamation No. 357, Proclamation No. 358, and Proclamation No. 359.
“December 8 is not yet a special non-working national holiday for the celebration of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary. Once approved by the Senate and signed by President Rodrigo Duterte into law, it will be added to the long list of holidays the country has in one year.”
In RMN reports, “December 8 was declared a holy day of obligation by Pope Clement XI in 1708 for Catholics all over the world, in honor of the holiness and purity of the Blessed Virgin Mary,” said Fariñas.
