Bacolod City Flooded Night, Commuters Rescued September 22, 2017

Bacolod City had experience continuous heavy rains Friday night, September 22, 2017, a result of a low-pressure area. Some several areas across Bacolod City; floodwaters neck-high, leaving commuters and students stranded.

Police Station 8 (PS8) commander, Police Senior Inspector Wilfredo Benoman, Jr. stated that the floodwaters measured two meters deep.

Bacolod City Councilor Caesar Distrito also reported that the waters were to be neck-deep at Purok Mars, Sampaguita I, and Villa Mercedes, all in Barangay Singcang- Airport.

The Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia announce through radio that he had Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) acting director, Police Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky, to provide support, rescue commuters stranded across the city.
