Breaking News! Armed men have killed a town councilor and two others after their bodies were found in Sitio Lilo, Barangay Lopez Jaena on Friday, September 15, 2017. The dead bodies identified as Leah Mae Canoy with Eden Bacordo (Sangguniang Bayan member of Salvador Benedicto town). Other bodies were found a few meters away from Canoy and Bacordo, is the bodyguard name Arnold Larida.

According to the Chief of Murcia, police Sr. Insp. Ronald Santillan stated that the witnesses claimed that the victims had breakfast at the home of Canoy’s aunt near the crime scene.

The witness said to the authorities that she saw 4 gunmen waiting for him. There is an empty shells of M-16 riffle were found at the crime scene. Victim cousin, Willy Bacordo told that the councilor attended a court hearing on Thursday, September 14, 2017. “Bacordo has a death threats in relation to the case he was facing,” Willy Bacordo added.

The authorities and investigators are now determining the motive of the slays and the identity of the suspects.
