The message from Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) members posted in Barangay Hall of Malagkit in Pigcawayan, Cotabato threatens President Rodrigo Duterte to be the next target to be assassinated by the ISIS proclaimed group in the country.
“Kahit saan humingi ng tulong si Duterte, hindi niya kami kayang ubusin. I am ISIS. Mag-ingat ka na Duterte, isusunod ka na namin kahit saan ka pa magtago. Papatayin kita,” the message said.
According to report of Inquirer.net, in an interview with Brig. General Gilbert Gapay, the message of the BIFF posted in one of the classrooms in Malagkit was just a “desperate pronouncement.” That is because the revels were driven away after more than 10-hours fighting between them and the military forces that kills at least six rebels and the rest fled to their stronghold in the marshland of Maguindanao.
Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella noted that the BIFF rebels cannot do the attack outside of its stronghold because they don’t have support from the local Muslim in the area.
Gapay said, President Duterte must be given extra measure of safety due to the threat of the BIFF giving order “shoot-to-kill” against the president. The PSG must adjust to insure the safety of the Chief Executive, giving extra effort of security measure to be assessed every now and then.
