Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) Episode on September 10, 2016, features Philip Salvador as tough grandfather with a gay grandson. It is a grandfather (Philip Salvador) and a grandson (Jerome Ponce) relationship with a heartwarming story about accepting family regardless of circumstance.

Ilong (played by Philip Salvador) has a task to take care of his grandson Gilbert (Jerome Ponce) ever since he was just eight months old after his mother Elang (Ella Cruz) left him to look for work in the city. Unfortunately, Elang failed to return to her firstborn after getting pregnant by another man.

Since then, Ilong has worked so hard to provide for Gilbert, whose effeminate behavior he persistently shrugs off. Gilbert was scared to tell his true se*uality on Ilong. Gilbert is about to enter college when Ilong starts losing jobs due to his old age and fails to provide for his grandson’s education.
