Roderic James Espina was arrested on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, by Police Operatives in a Cebu drug raid.

He is believed to be the cohort of suspected drug lord Kerwin Espinosa Jr. and is the only child of the late Mayor Edgarino Espina.  He has denied to the authorities that he knows Espinosa who is according to the Police is the biggest drug lord in Eastern Visayas and parts of Cebu.

Reports recently from Inquirer.net, the son of the Leyte’s ex-mayor was arrested by authorities inside his rented room without any warrant.  Espina did not fight back when he was nabbed in his room at the Allison Inn.  Authorities found one plastic bag of marijuana, a sachet of shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia, .45 caliber pistol, and a .22 revolver inside his room.

Reports said, the son of the Leyte ex-mayor was arrested when an employee of Allison Inn give a tip to the authorities.

Inquirer revealed that Espina admits he has been a drug user since he was 18 years old and plans to surrender to the authorities.
