The De La Salle University Lady Spikers puts down The Ateneo Lady Eagles after the final game of UAAP Womens Volleyball season 78 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Saturday. Ended the back to back championship of  Ateneo, with a score set of 19-25, 25-21, 25-16, 25-16 The Lady Spikers brought back their crown and took their ninth title since they joined in 1986. Veteran Ara Galang along with Mika Reyes and Syd Demecillo, played their final year this season with the new MVP Kim Kianna Dy.

Ateneo did not get a chance to win inside the Araneta Coliseum in their five games with La Salle this season, while The Lady Spikers never lost back-to-back matches.

Coach Ramil De Jesus on a statement “Very proud ako sa kanila. Since after Season 77, nakita nila kung gaano kasakit na matalo,”.

Alyssa Valdez also played her final game this season with 31 points for the Lady Egles and as a three time MVP.
