Presidential bet Grace Poe can’t be weaned away from fellow senator and mentor Francis “Chiz” Escudero if the lady lawmaker is to become the country’s president in 2016, a political analyst reckoned.

“A Grace needs a Chiz in Malacañang because that has always been the equation for them. Take away Escudero and Poe would be having a hard time in governance,” said Malou Tiquia, founder and general manager of PUBLiCUS Asia Inc.

A noted political management expert in the Philippines and Asia, Tiquia underscored the student-teacher dynamic between Poe and Escudero which was no secret during the 2013 mid-term elections’ campaign trail.

“I am not necessarily saying it’s good but that’s how Escudero designed it to be. That’s the long term view,” she said, adding that the two of them could be a very better if they will do a tandem in the palace. Analyst also added that she knows Chiz Escudero for a very long time that’s why she said that it would be a perfect tandem.
