The Filipina who faced a death sentence in Indonesia in the case of posessing illegal drugs, namely Mary Jane Veloso had been deeply determine in pursiung the said case againts her recruiters, stated by the The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
It was discussed that there are still big hopes that they can convinced and show to the Indonesian government that she is innocent. That Veloso is a victim in the said case; to prove to it’s finest.
According to, Assistant Secretary Charles Jose, spokesperson of the DFA, “If we can prove that MJ is innocent and was only a victim, then we can use that as [a] basis to make another request for clemency,”
The National Narcotic Agency of Indonesia has also ordering the execution of the 55 who are included in the drug-related case. However, Veloso and it’s side did not receive any notice. Jose said, “Usually, they give an advance notification. Since we did not receive an official notice, we can assume that nothing will happen,”
Adding, “Mary Jane was indeed given the death sentence for possession of illegal drugs but her execution was not carried out at the last minute due to Philippine government intervention. She has not been given clemency or had her sentence commuted,”
