Last Thursday, a teenage girl named Stacey Villar, 14 years old, in Cagayan De Oro was found dead inside her room. Report said that the girl was strangled to death.
The alleged suspect, Gregorio Santos Jr. who is the boyfriend of the victim’s mother for a year now, surrendered to authorities at Maharlika Police Station on Sunday.

Chief Inspector Ariel Philip Pontillas, chief of homicide Division of Cagayan De Oro said that the victim did not confess yet to having committed the crime.
Santos allegedly admitted to the police that he had a fight with the victim’s mother, Meredith Mah, for a week before the murder due to financial problems. Mah’s family also confirmed that her relationship with Santos is unhealthy as they always fight and argue. Reports said that he must have killed the teenager out of anger at her mother.
The victim’s family will possibly file robbery with homicide against the suspect as the victim’s mobile phone was also missing.
