The Department of Justice (DOJ) junked the case filed by Deniece Cornejo against the co-host actor Vhong Navarro due to the lack of logical story supporting the complaint of the model stylish Deniece Cornejo, so the panel has decided to junk the case.
The camp of Cornejo headed by Atty. Howard Calleja refused to give comment regarding the DOJ’s decision to junk the complained filed by his client. But he said that they have yet to receive a copy of resolution from the DOJ.
“We reserve our right to comment at this point in time because we have not received the copy of the resolution, and we also reserve our right to proceed with the legal remedies available for our client,” he said.
The DOJ mentioned in its 42-page resolution dated April 4, 2014, that Cornejo’s testimony was hard to comprehend how the possibility of the claimed abuse took place that there was not even a single scratch on her.
It was also noted by the panel how the model described the incident that she was pinned down on the bed by the comedian actor and then she claimed that Navarro removed his short, the statement also demonstrate physical improbability.
“It is extremely difficult to comprehend how such scenario of shouting, struggling and running to the lobby of the Forbeswood Heights condominium could have escaped the ears of the people in the neighboring units or in the halls of the condominium,” it said.
Aside from the DOJ’s dismissal of Cornejo’s complaint abuse against the actor, the panel has also found probable cause to charge Cornejo, Cedric Lee, Bernice Lee, Ferdinand Guerrero, Simeon Raz, Jeff Fernandez and Jose Paolo Calma for the crimes of serious illegal detention and grave coercion.
