Amid the reconfiguration of political alliance for the coming 2016 polls, the administration standard bearer for presidential race, the winning line-up is expected to have Mar Roxas for president and Kris Aquino will be his running-mate.
Although, President Benigno Aquino III has yet to pick the best successor to be anointed to run for presidential office this coming 2016 elections, Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas is still to be considered the most viable candidate for presidential race.
According to ABS-CBNnews.com, quoting the statement of Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda about the presidential line-up of candidate in the 2016 elections, President Aquino’s defeated running-mate in 2010 Mar Roxas is expected to be the standard bearer.
“I can’t answer that because we would be… It’s a decision that the President has to make who his anoint[ed], who his successor will be or who his handpicked choice will be. It’s too far off and I don’t want to preempt the President. Whatever decision he makes, we will support, and we will wait for his decision, and wait for his announcement. Again, we still have 849 days left in office,” Lacierda said.
Lacierda also was trying to keep the Palace away from issues that Roxas may draft Kris Aquino the youngest sister of the president as his running-mate.
“Well, again, we have not. We are in the midst of governance. Secretary Mar Roxas is still the Secretary of the Interior and Local Government. He’s still busy. Over the weekend, he was in Boracay, I think, protecting the ancestral domain of the Ati. So he’s in the midst of doing his job as Secretary of Interior and Local Government. We have not heard of that configuration,” he said.
On the other hand, Vice President Jejomar Binay has formed already his own party as he had long announced his willingness to set the presidential office. Over the weekend report, Vice President Binay draft 3-term Batangas Governor Vilma Santos as his running-mate.
