Malaya Watson, the Filipino-American singer contestant joining the America’s prestigious singing competition with her performance of the song “I Believe” popularized by Fantasia Barrino qualifies her to advance on the Top 30 of the American Idol 2014 on Wednesday evening (Thursday morning in the Philippines.)
The American Idol Hollywood Week’s final round is now ended with the Top-30 semi-finalists. The lucky contestants qualifies to the next round of the competition was revealed to the public followed by the grueling rehearsals for the past few days.
Malaya Watson, 16-year-old, who is look so simple, but with her performance of “I Believe” she continues to impress the judges of the said competition although during the last Hollywood events she has performed with her song “I Believe” a little bit shaky but she made it on the way to the next round.
During her performance of “I Believe,” American Idol Judge Harry Connick responded with a good comment saying, “That name [Malaya] has great potential to be a star at some point” he said. “You’re going to be in the Top-15 [girls]. Congrats!” Harry commented.
However, Jennifer Lopez gives standing ovation to Malaya Watson’s performance, and because of that, Malaya Watson is now safe for her spot in the Top 30 of the American Idol 2014.
If the Filipino-American singer joining the contest will continue her good fortune in the American Idol Season 13 competition she could be following the footsteps of Jessica Sanchez who have reached the second runner-up.
