In response to the massive destruction wrought by the super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) in the Philippines, Canada will be giving priority to the Filipino application in the immigration.
According to Minister Chris Alexander of Citizenship and Immigration (CIC), every Filipino filing for applications on request will be given priority to be processed especially for those who have been “significantly and personally” affected by the calamity.
In addition, the Filipino citizens stayed temporarily in Canada, if they wish to remain, the Canadian government will be assessing their request in a compassionate and flexible manner. This noticed of information is also posted on the website of the CIC.
The CIC have set up direct contacts of email addresses and dedicated phone line to provide immediate response to the request from applicants and their families in the Philippines.
