The second largest congregation and members of church in the country, Iglesia Ni Cristo will hold global Yolanda Walkathon dubbed as “Worldwide Walk” for victims of super typhoon Yolanda.
The church organizers of Iglesia Ni Cristo said that the walk for a cause will be participated by all the members of the congregation not only here in the country but from all over the world will be joining together. There are 85 sites in the country and 55 abroad that include the 34 sites in the United State, 6 in Europe, 10 in Australia and New Zealand and 5 in Asia.
In Metro Manila, the walkathon will start at 7:00 a.m., all the participating individual will proceed to the Cultural Center of the Philippines as the starting point going to Rizal Park, where a prayer rally will also be held.
According to the statement of INC minister of the gospel Edwil Zabala, he said while quoting a circular from the INC congregations worldwide on January 11 and 12, that the amount to be raised through the walkathon activity will be allocated by the church through the Felix Y. Manalo (FYM) Foundation as additional assistance to our countrymen especially our brethren, who were victims during the super typhoon Yolanda in the country.
The INC revealed that there are more than 5,500 congregations in about 100 countries and territories in the entire world where the church of Iglesia Ni Cristo is existed.
The walkathon is among many activities being undertaken by the INC Church in preparation for its centennial this year.
