Vhong Navarro was accused of lasciviousnèss after allegedly sèxually abusing Deniece Cornejo.
The alleged event occurred on the night of January 22, 2014, in the girl’s Taguig City condo apartment.
The presiding judge, Judge Angela Din of the Metropolitan Trial Court of Taguig City, stated that there is “probable cause” to try the case.
Vhong was freed on a PHP36,000 bond on September 15, 2022, depending on the settlement.
Vhong surrendered willingly on Monday, September 19, 2022.
His legal counsel, Alma Mallonga, appeared in court, and the Kapamilya actor-TV host posted bail.
Vhong’s side claims that the allegation of sèxual assault against Deniece is false.

The lawyer said that Deniece was seen on CCTV in the elevator a minute after Vhong exited the elevator to the girl’s condo unit.
Ani Mallonga (published as is with italics): ” After she enters the elevator, she is smiling, even apparently suppressing giggles, as she looks at her reflection, making it clear she was not a victim of rapè, attempted rapè, or acts of lasciviousnèss.
“Ms. Cornejo’s rapè complaint was DISMISSED. She, along with other accused, was charged with Serious Illegal Detention and Grave Coercion. Trial has been ongoing with respect to the Serious Illegal case, and she was convicted along with Mr. Cedric Lee of Grave Coercion in 2018.”
In 2014, the Taguig Prosecutor’s Office and the Secretary of the Department of Justice denied Deniece’s rapè accusation against Vhong.
In July 2022, the Court of Appeals overturned that ruling.
Vhong’s legal counsel could not understand why the matter was being heard in Taguig since the Court of Appeals had not issued a final decision and Vhong’s camp had a pending move for reconsideration.
On the other hand, the case of serious illegal detention filed by Vhong against the group of Deniece and Cedric Lee is still being tried in court.
