The directors of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” are looking back with pride, appreciation, and a profound sense of fulfillment as the action-drama series approaches its eagerly awaited climax after three years of gripping primetime television.

The experience has been quite fulfilling for director Malu Sevilla.

The program, which came after the massive seven-year run of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” was met with high standards. Director Darnel Villaflor acknowledged that there was real pressure.

The team’s collective accomplishment was compared by director Richard V. Somes to discovering water in the desert, “and suddenly nakakita kayo ng sobrang fresh na tubig sa gitna. Lahat kayo uminom doon.”

Raising the bar right up until the very end was more difficult for Somes than simply maintaining ratings. “Hanggang ending from day one, kailangan consistent and even more intensified, I think na-deliver namin.”

The leadership and vision of series star, creator, and co-director Coco Martin, who portrays Tanggol in the show, constituted a significant portion of the directors’ reflections.

Sevilla, who has collaborated with Martin for many years, remembered recognizing his promise at a young age.

She said that working with Martin was challenging but incredibly rewarding.

The filmmakers of “Batang Quiapo” promised the audience that the conclusion will be both dramatic and emotionally satisfying as the film approaches its final chapters.

He added, “The drama, the action, the intensity and giving the audience a new kind of experience in how scenes are mounted, how acting and action coincide. This is something fresh for Philippine TV in the next few weeks”

Villaflor reiterated the assurance of a comprehensive and well-rounded conclusion.

However, there are conflicting feelings when the series draws to an end.

The team claims that trust kept them grounded in the face of accolades, criticism, and highs and lows in ratings.

Somes thought, “It’s about trusting the project and the right people beside you.”
