MANILA — Kate Valdez and former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Fumiya Sankai announced the end of their relationship.

The two posted a joint statement on Instagram on Sunday, confirming their split.

After giving it some serious consideration, we have agreed to part ways. The two said, “This decision was made with mutual respect, understanding, and care.”

The two said, “Following considerable thought, we have mutually decided to go our separate ways. This decision was made with respect, understanding, and care for one another.”

Additionally, Sankai and Valdez disclosed that their separation is essential to their personal development since it allows them the time and space to heal and improve.

The two shared in a previous interview with Boy Abunda that they were introduced by a mutual acquaintance.

Despite the fact that traditional wooing is not a part of Japanese society, they became a couple after becoming acquaintances.

Known as Team LAYF, Sankai is a member of “Pinoy Big Brother: Otso” alongside Lou Yanong, André Brouillette, and Yamyam Gucong, the big winner.

Fumiya and Kate first captured public attention after forming a close bond inside the PBB house, where their chemistry quickly resonated with viewers. Their friendship later blossomed into a romantic relationship outside the reality show, earning them a loyal fanbase who followed their journey on and off screen.

The pair also collaborated on several projects and frequently appeared together at events, further fueling support from fans who admired their candid and low-key dynamic.

Both Fumiya and Kate assured supporters that they remain focused on their personal growth and careers. Fumiya is currently working on new creative projects, while Kate continues to take on acting opportunities.
