MANILA — A vlogger was summoned to explain an alleged road rage incident, and the Land Transportation Office (LTO) suspended his license.

According to LTO, the vlogger was seen in the viral video blocking another driver from passing on a public road.

The vlogger got out of the car at the red light, knocked on the other motorist’s window, and made violent statements.

In order to avoid being charged with reckless driving and improper person to operate a motor vehicle, the vlogger must come before the LTO Intelligence and Investigation Division and provide a verifiable statement or explanation. This is done through a show cause order.

During the course of the investigation, the person’s driver’s license was suspended for ninety days. Additionally, the car was put in alarm status.

LTO chief Markus Lacanilao said, “Ang insidenteng ito ay hindi lamang labag sa mga batas trapiko kundi nagdudulot din ng malaking panganib sa kaligtasan ng lahat ng gumagamit ng kalsada,”

The investigation stems from a circulating video clip that appears to show the vlogger engaging in a heated confrontation with another road user. Netizens accused him of reckless driving, using threatening language, and endangering public safety.

The clip quickly gained traction online, prompting calls for authorities to take action and remind content creators that traffic rules apply regardless of online popularity.

LTO spokespersons said the agency is looking into possible violations, including reckless driving, improper conduct, and obstruction of traffic. If found liable, the vlogger could face fines, suspension, or even revocation of his driver’s license, depending on the outcome of the investigation.

“Social media fame does not exempt anyone from accountability,” the LTO stressed. “Our roads are public spaces, and everyone is expected to act responsibly.”

The LTO also used the incident to reiterate its call for motorists to exercise patience and self-control on the road.
