MANILA — Alden Richards and Nadine Lustre will star in a new romantic series called “Love, Siargao.”
The video streaming service VIU verified this by posting pictures of the two on social media early on Wednesday.
The post read, “ASIA’S MULTIMEDIA STAR MEETS THE PRESIDENT! 😍 Alden Richards and Nadine Lustre are teaming up for their biggest upcoming series yet. The Siargao Magic gets real this 2026. Love, Siargao, coming soon only on Viu!”
“Love, Siargao” is Lustre and Reid’s first collaborative acting endeavor.
Richards was part of AlDub and Lustre was half of the well-known love pair JaDine prior to their separate prosperous solo careers.
Richards featured alongside Kathryn Bernardo in the 2024 hit movie “Hello, Love, Again,” while Lustre recently starred with Vice Ganda in the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Call Me Mother.”
“Love, Siargao” marks the first major collaboration between Richards and Lustre, two of the most influential names in Philippine entertainment. Both stars are known for choosing projects that explore emotional depth and contemporary themes, raising expectations that the series will deliver more than a typical romance.
Alden Richards, who has recently headlined both commercial hits and critically praised projects, is expected to portray a character seeking escape and renewal after a personal setback. Nadine Lustre, meanwhile, will reportedly play a free-spirited island local whose worldview challenges and transforms Alden’s character.
According to early production notes, “Love, Siargao” will follow the journey of two strangers brought together by circumstance, exploring how love can grow in unexpected places. The series will touch on themes of self-discovery, mental health, letting go of the past, and finding purpose, set against Siargao’s iconic waves, sunsets, and tight-knit community.
Producers said the island setting will not only serve as a romantic backdrop but will also play a key role in the storytelling, highlighting Filipino culture, island life, and environmental appreciation.
News of the project quickly sparked excitement online, with fans praising the “fresh pairing” and expressing anticipation for the chemistry between the two stars.
The series is being developed by a team known for visually driven dramas, with location shoots planned to start soon, subject to weather conditions in Siargao. More details on the supporting cast, director, and release date are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
