Bela Padilla, an actress-director, revealed the reality behind her viral photo with South Korean celebrity Song Joong-ki.

Bela Padilla drew the curiosity of a lot of netizens and celebrities, particularly K-drama lovers, back in May.

It is due to her photo with Song Joong-ki, who is also hugely viral in the Philippines. The photograph was taken in France at the 76th Cannes Film Festival. Previously, the actress expressed gratitude to director Adolf Alix Jr., who first saw the K-drama star.

“I didn’t say na actress ako. Sabi ko filmmaker ako kasi naman yung hitsura ko, naka-swimsuit ako. Basa yung dress ako. [Baka sabihin niya], ‘Sure ka bang actress ka?” she explained.

Bela had just gotten out of the beach when she took a photo with the star.

“Galing ako ng beach. As in yung picture ko, bagong ahon sa dagat, like nag-swimming ako, naka-swimsuit ako sa loob. And then Direk Adolf just pointed it out, ‘Di ba, fan ka ng Descendants of the Sun? Ayan si Song Joong-ki,” the actress revealed.

Bela recognized the actor when she glanced at the director mentioned by Direk Adolf. “He’s so chill, like, he didn’t have a whole team with him. He was really there as a filmmaker so I appreciate it,” the actress continued.
