In the Kapuso primetime serial Maria Clara at Ibarra, Dennis Trillo, the king of Kapuso drama, discussed the evolution of his character from Crisostomo Ibarra to Simoun.
As Ibarra, the male protagonist in Jose Rizal’s novel Noli Me Tangere, which served as the basis for the Kapuso series, Dennis received praise from viewers for his portrayal of the role.
Ibarra’s character departed San Diego for the sequel to the book, El Filibusterismo, and upon his return, he went by the name Simoun, a jeweler.
According to an article in GMA Entertainment, the Kapuso drama king was well-prepared for this transition, especially in terms of conforming to Simoun’s physical description in the book.
Along with the character’s physical transformation from Ibarra to Simoun, there was also a personality shift. The actor revealed that he had to adapt even his Spanish language.
Dennis Trillo also mentioned how eager he is to reveal to their fans how his personality has changed.
The actor claimed that viewers would witness Simoun’s revenge and his attempt to correct the faults he made in the past for the Maria Clara at Ibarra storyline that stretches to El Filibusterismo.
New characters will be introduced, some of whom have previously left and some of whom will return.
Klay is the role portrayed by Barbie Forteza.
