In an interview, Herlene Budol’s manager admitted that he spent millions on the 50 people he brought to Uganda for the Miss Planet International pageant.
Miss Planet International is a global beauty pageant for single women held every year. On an international stage, contestants compete for the title.
It is a movement that aims to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and as such, they have created a pageant to find an ambassador in each country who will effect change in their societies in order to provide a better future for future generations. This pageant combines culture, advocacy, and a high-quality show.
The pageant’s coronation night was scheduled for November 19, 2022, in Kampala, Uganda. However, due to unexpected circumstances, it was postponed and rescheduled for January 23 in Cambodia.
Herlene Budol, a television personality, is one of the candidates who entered the pageant. However, she decided to withdraw before the pageant’s cancellation was announced.
Her manager Wilbert Tolentino, who accompanied her throughout, revealed in an interview with Boy Abunda that he spent millions on the team he brought to Uganda. According to him, their team consisted of 50 people.
Instead of competing in the pageant, he toured his team. When asked why he spent millions on the pageant, he stated that he was only interested in the country’s pride.
