The 71st Miss Universe’s twelfth (12th) crown, “Force for Good,” was unveiled this Monday afternoon at the True Icon Hall of Icon Siam in Bangkok, Thailand. This crown will be placed on the head of the lucky winner during the coronation night.
On January 14, 2023, Miss Universe 2022 will take place at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.
The Miss Universe Organization’s new owner, transgender billionaire Anne Jakrajutatip, oversaw the crown’s unveiling.
The new Miss Universe crown was produced by Mouawad, a private Swiss jewelry company that has partnered with the Miss Universe Organization since 2019, and it costs US$6 million.
The “Power of Unity” crown worn by the Miss Universe winners, Harnaaz Sandhu of India, Andrea Meza of Mexico, and Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa, was made by Mouawad (2021).
The Force for Good crown is described as follows by the Miss Universe Organization:
“The Mouawad Miss Universe Force for Good Crown is a work of extraordinary craftsmanship, completely crafted and set and by hand total 993 stones setting, featuring 110.83 carat of blue sapphire and 48.24 carat of white diamond in a design that evokes The Miss Universe Organization’s belief in a future forged by women who push the limits of what’s possible and the incredible women from around the world who advocate for positive change.”
There’s more; hold on!
Under Anna’s leadership, the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) is anticipated to undergo changes, such as her alleged desire to crown Harnaaz, the current Miss Universe, as her successor or replacement.
This will undoubtedly spark a problem and a debate.
The owner of the pageant, which is regarded as the most prestigious in the world, has never passed the crown to the incoming titleholder in Miss Universe’s history.
But when Anne insists on her personal interests, Miss Universe runs the risk of losing its appeal and credibility.
