Extortion is one of the obvious reasons given by the Philippine National Police for blowing up a bus on Sunday in Tacurong, Sultan Kudarat.

The explosion k!lled one person and !njured eleven others.

According to PCol, “Sa ngayon Sir hindi pa po namin maibigay sa inyo ang kumpletong detalye kung anong grupong ito sapagkat tinitingnan pa po namin dito Sir yung modus operandi na ginamit nila.” Police Regional Office 12’s Rogelio Raymundo Jr.

The extortion attempt on the Yellow Bus Line, according to Raymundo, began a month ago.

Some of those !njured in the explosion have been released from the hospital, according to police.

“Sa 11 pong nasugatan, yung 5 po doon ay nakalabas na, yung 6 po ay inoobserbahan pa lang po at medyo malalim po ang sugat nilang natamo,” he said.

They advised the bus company, according to Raymundo, to implement point-to-point pickups for passengers.

He also stated that the police will increase their presence on the buses.
