The Miss Planet International 2022 pageant has been canceled, according to representatives from Jamaica and the Czech Republic.
Herlene Nicole Budol of the Philippines is competing in the Miss Planet International 2022 pageant. The competition has been called, according to two of the candidates.
Representatives from Jamaica and the Czech Republic shared information about this alleged update on their Instagram Stories on November 11.
Tonille Watkis, Miss Planet Jamaica, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to represent her homeland in an international competition.
“Thank you all for your support up until this moment. Unfortunately, the competition has been canceled…”
“But, it was such an honor to have the chance to represent my beautiful Jamaica again,” she continued.
Miss Planet Czech Republic, Tamila Sparrow, has harsher criticism for the MPI organizers. Tamila claims that the MPI candidates were “robbed” because they had to pay for their own lodging and food.
“I have to apologize, but unfortunately we were robbed. We haven’t had even 10% of the activity, nothing was paid, nor our accommodation nor our food. We’re stuck in Uganda,” she stated.
According to the Czech Republic beauty queen, “even those who were not involved” in the pageant spent money to keep them “fed and safe.”
She then apologized to everyone who had made a financial or mental investment in them. She stated, “I couldn’t be silent anymore. I apologize for everybody who put a lot of effort in us monetary or mentally wise. But this has to be seen by the public.”
Tamila claims that 35 candidates who are still in Uganda have been “scammed.”
Tamila Sparrow stated in another Instagram Stories post that they will be leaving Uganda soon.
“Just give us some time to figure everything out. Please. All we know, is we are leaving the country as soon as possible,” she stated.
