This Saturday, the remains of the alleged middleman in the murder of broadcaster Percy Lapid were brought to his province in Leyte. Its relatives are also requesting justice.
Security was assigned to the home of alleged middleman Cristito Villamor Palaa (who was first identified as Jun Villamor, according to a report.
Palaa’s father is seeking justice for his son’s death inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP).
Cristito was identified as one of two middlemen involved in the plot to kill Lapid by self-proclaimed gunman Joel Escorial.
Cristito died at the NBP just hours after Escorial revealed the details about the alleged imprisoned middleman.
The National Bureau of Investigation conducted an autopsy on his remains, and it appeared that there was bleeding in his heart.
Cristito appeared to have a “history of asphyxia by plastic bag suffocation” in the subsequent autopsy performed by forensic pathologist Dr. Raquel Fortun.
Fortuna also noticed “pulmonary congestion, edema, and hemorrhages” in Cristito’s body.
On October 3, while riding in tandem, a gunman shot and killed Lapid, also known as Percival Mabasa, in Las Pias City.
Escorial was presented to the media after surrendering on October 18. Cristito died on this day as well.
The NBI and the Philippine National Police filed complaints against those involved in the deaths of Lapid and Cristito on Monday.
