After Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen contracted the coronavirus, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. was tested for COVID-19.
“As part of the health protocol for the APEC Summit in Bangkok, Thailand, the President had himself tested, and he also instructed members of the official delegation to Cambodia to have themselves tested,” the Office of the Press Secretary said on Tuesday.
“The President wishes Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen a speedy recovery,” it said.
The outcome of his COVID-19 test had yet to be made public.
Hun Sen revealed on his official Facebook page that he tested positive for COVID-19.
Marcos and Hun Sen met on the sidelines of the ASEAN summit in Phnom Penh last Thursday.
On Wednesday, Marcos will fly to Bangkok, Thailand, to join other world leaders for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit.
Hun Sen, Cambodia’s Prime Minister, has confirmed that he tested positive for COVID-19. He had an appointment with President. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and other regional and global leaders convened in Phnom Penh last week for the ASEAN Summits and Related Summits.
