Rita Gaviola, the “Badjao Girl,” recently announced that she is now a mother. She took to social media to share pictures of herself cradling her baby. However, some trolls left unsolicited comments on her posts, prompting Rita to respond. In one of her responses, the first-time mother stated that she is proud of herself for not resorting to abortion “for the sake of my career.”

Rita Gaviola and her boyfriend responded to some of their online critics in a new YouTube video.

One hater commented that Rita and her partner are relying solely on their parents to support their child. Rita and her boyfriend both denied the accusation, claiming that they both have stable sources of income.

Even though they make income, their parents, according to the boyfriend, occasionally help them out voluntarily. He clarified that he and Rita do not ask their parents for gifts or money.

“May mga sarili na rin kaming stable at pangtustos sa aming baby at mga pangangailangan.”

“Ang mga magulang, andyan yan. Kahit hindi kami humingi, tumutulong sila, nasa likod lang sila.,” andyan said.

“Pero hindi kami nanghihingi,” Badjao Girl’s boyfriend clarified.
