Thai police say at least 37 people were k*lled, including 22 children, during a knife and gun rampage at a daycare center in Thailand on Thursday, October 6, 2022. A former police officer armed with a handgun and knife attacked his wife and child at their home before he k*lled himself.

The gunman was identified, he is a former member of the force who was dismissed from his post last year over dr*g allegations and he was facing trial on a dr*gs charge.

Netizens uploaded a video showing sheets covering what appeared to be the bodies of children lying in pools of blood in the garden of the daycare center.

Mass shootings in Thailand are rare. In 2020 a soldier k*lled 21 people and injured dozens more in the city of Nakhon Ratchasima.

Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha has ordered an investigation into the attack to be fast-tracked.
