ABS-CBN Film Productions (Star Cinema) has issued an official statement in response to former Pinoy Big Brother Otso housemate Rhys Miguel’s allegations against fellow actor Patrick Quiroz.

Patrick is accused of abusing Rhys. ABS-CBN Films is in charge of the production of He’s Into Her, Rhys and Patrick’s collaborative romantic-comedy series that will show on iWantTFC from May 30 to August 1, 2021. The reported Rhys event happened during the series’ lock-in recording in December 2020.

Rhys and Patrick have previously worked with ABS-CBN and Rise Studio Artists, the training and management division of ABS-CBN Films, in cooperation with Star Magic, ABS-talent CBN’s management arm. Both are no longer part of the Kapamilya network.

ABS-CBN Film Productions issued the following statement:

“Contrary to the claims made by Rhys Miguel on October 11, 2022, ABS-CBN Film Productions Inc. [AFPI], immediately conducted an investigation upon receiving his complaint in December 2020 and swiftly took appropriate action to protect the rights of everyone involved. AFPI takes these matters seriously. “The safety, dignity, and privacy of our people are our utmost priority.”

However, if Rhys had not spoken about his “traumatic experience” from a long time ago, the public would not have known what he went suffered.

When aspiring actor EJ Panganiban stepped forward, the controversy intensified. EJ was also in He’s Into Her. On Wednesday morning, October 12, 2022, EJ endorsed and validated Rhys’ discoveries with a post on his own Facebook account.

Patrick is said to have slept with him one day since Patrick’s door was shut, and when Erghyll was sleeping, Patrick began kissing him and causing Erghyll obsc*ne. Erghyll was shocked by the situation, but Patrick just expressed his love for his elder brother.

Erghyll, on the other hand, was unable to sleep throughout the incident and stated that the young man was fully awake and couldn’t believe what Patrick had done.

He shared it on social media only hours after Rhys spoke out. People connected in EJ’s showbiz profession chastised him because of his Facebook post. He was not allowed to talk. They were unsuccessful, however, since the ambitious actor continued to discuss the event between Rhys and Patrick.

“Finally nagsalita ka rin bro Rhys Miguel, kala ko kakalimutan na lang natin hahah, no. Saksi kami niyan sa HIH and tinry niya din kami maging victim but he [Patrick] failed.

“Makikitulog daw siya etc sa room namin sa lock-in taping kasi closed na pinto nila and nung tulog ako nag attempt siya halikan ako and do his thing.

“‘Namimiss ko lang kuya ko’ yan sabi niya sakin. And after non di na ko nakatulog kahit may shoot kinabukasan, yes kaya mukhang puyat nung hih. Wala talagang tulugan para bantayan tong manyak na to.”

There is rumor that EJ does not want to discuss it with others around him since the disclosure would have an impact on his colleagues ABS-CBN actors who have a show on the channel. Patrick has yet to speak and is defending himself against the harsh charges leveled by Rhys and EJ. Those who may remark on Patrick’s Instagram account are likewise restricted, and comments on his most recent Instagram post from September 25, 2022 are disabled.
