Bacolod City—On September 14, 2022, a netizen posted a video of a driver who owns an old jeepney quarreling with a passenger who chose to ride in an air-conditioned jeepney.

The driver stated that he was the first in line and that the modernized jeepney driver should wait his turn. But the passenger doesn’t want to ride in the old jeepney but wants to ride in the air-conditioned jeepney.

The driver of the modernized jeepney said that they must let the passengers choose where to ride.

But the old jeepney driver refuses and talks to the passenger, saying that they should ride in a jeepney that parks first, but the passenger replies to him that they must have the freedom to choose where to ride.

On Monday, September 14, at least 45 new renovated jeepneys entered the streets of this metropolis.

The new contemporary jeepneys ply the Alijis-Central Market and Bata-Libertad routes, according to Neriza Jamora, corporate secretary of MBMJ and Uy Transport Services Inc.
