By reading on, you can learn more about the Royal Family and the line of succession.

King Charles III is the Queen’s eldest son.

On July 29, 1981, the now-ex-Prince of Wales married Lady Diana Spencer, who became the Princess of Wales. William and Harry were the couple’s two sons. They later divorced, and their marriage was annulled in 1996. The princess was killed in an automobile accident in Paris on August 31, 1997.

On April 9, 2005, he married Camilla Parker Bowles.

Prince William, the oldest son of now-King Charles III and Diana, Princess of Wales, is first in line to the throne.

When his mother died, the duke was 15 years old. He went on to study at St Andrews University, where he met Kate Middleton, his future wife. In 2011, the pair married.

On his 21st birthday, he was named a Counsellor of State, a position that allowed him to stand in for the Queen on formal occasions. He and his wife welcomed their first kid, George, in July 2013, followed by Charlotte in 2015 and Louis in 2018.

After training with the Army, Royal Navy, and RAF, the prince spent three years as an RAF search-and-rescue pilot in RAF Valley on Anglesey, north Wales. In addition to his royal responsibilities, he worked part-time for the East Anglian Air Ambulance for two years. He departed the position in July 2017 to take on further royal responsibilities on behalf of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.

His principal tasks as heir to the throne are to assist the king in his royal obligations.

On July 22, 2013, Prince George of Cornwall and Cambridge was born at St Mary’s Hospital in London. Prince William was present during his son’s birth, which weighed 8 lb 6 oz (3.8 kg).

After his father, Prince George is second in line to the throne.

On May 2, 2015, the Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge gave birth to her second child, a daughter, at St Mary’s Hospital. The delivery of the 8lb 3oz (3.7kg) infant was seen by the Duke. Charlotte Elizabeth Diana was named by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cornwall and Cambridge is the third in line to the throne, behind her father and older brother.

On April 23, 2018, the Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge gave birth to her third child, a boy weighing 8 lbs. 7 oz., at St Mary’s Hospital in London.

The Duke attended the birth of Louis Arthur Charles, the fourth in line to the throne.

Prince Harry attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst before becoming a lieutenant in the Army and flying helicopters.

During his ten years in the military, Capt. Wales, as he was called, served twice in Afghanistan as an Apache helicopter co-pilot and gunner, from 2012 to 2013. He retired from the Army in 2015 and now concentrates on philanthropic activities such as conservation in Africa and organizing the Invictus Games for injured service veterans.

Since his 21st birthday, he has served as a Counsellor of State, filling in for the Queen on official tasks.

On May 19, 2018, he married US actress Meghan Markle at Windsor Castle. The royal couple announced in January 2020 that they would retire as “senior” royals and split their time between the UK and North America. They stated that they planned to “work to become financially independent.”

Buckingham Palace declared just over a year later that the pair would not be returning to royal responsibilities and would relinquish their honorary military postings and royal patronages.
